Six Stages to Solving a Problem

1. Identify the actual specific problem to be solved. Gather full information pertaining to the issue.
2. Research the symptoms, possible root causes of the problem, if persistent or intermittent.
3. Select possible solutions, any treatments including the costs, availability, risks or side effects.
4. Implement the best solution and treatment and make sure any relevant information is fully recorded.
5. Manage the best solution or treatment ensuring that any relevant details are revisited effectively.
6. Review any lessons learned. so that if the same problem occurs again it can then be solved quickly.
